Terms and Definitions

Shop truck (similar names: mobile repair shops, auto repair shops, breakdown vehicles) - special vehicle designated for transportation and use of equipment by maintenance crew in places, where accidents happen and preventive repair is carried out. At that personnel of breakdown services can be transported in the cab only, and in the van itself – staying during the vehicle parking only.

Mobile laboratories (similar names: autolabs) – inherently the same shops, but used for different purposes, not for repair and accident elimination, but for timely detection of defects, monitoring and diagnosis. Autolabs are given names in accordance with the tasks to be fulfilled, for instance, “mobile electrical laboratory (electrotechnical laboratory)”, “mobile communication laboratory” or “mobile laboratory for nondestructive inspection”. People also cannot be transported in vans of this type in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation.

Crew buses (similar names: crew vehicles, all-terrain buses) – vehicles used for delivery of maintenance crews, construction gangs, geological prospecting and other crews to the site. At that, “site” should be taken to the widest extent, because it can be accident site, construction site, oil and gas deposits located far from settlements. Unlike other vans of this type, transportation of people is not only allowed, but is the essence of its name – “crew bus”.

Number of seats in the crew bus depends on make and model of used chassis, for example, ultimate capacity of KAMAZ-chassis crew bus (all-terrain bus) is 34 persons, URAL-chassis (all-terrain bus) – 32 persons, and
GAZ-chassis all-terrain bus – 22 persons, including driver.

Emergency repair service (similar name – emergency service vehicle) – special vehicles designed (like mobile shops) for performance of preventive repair and accident elimination. However, they differ from mobile shops structurally. Emergency service van is a superstructure, which consists of 2 sections: First section – van (“cabin”), second one – load box (rear body or body). Load box is convenient at transportation of oversize cargoes. Usually crane-manipulators are mounted on such vehicles. Transportation of people in “cabin” or load box is also prohibited.

Accommodation modules (similar name – site huts) – vehicles equipped with devices required for provision of independent living of group of people without external sources of electric energy, drinking water and all other conveniences, what is called in a “naked field”. Transportation of people in prohibited in such vans also.

EM vehicles – high-technology vehicles designed to be used by EM subdivisions in zones of emergency situations for elimination of their consequences, rendering help to injured persons and organization of command over wrecking. In the vehicles of this type people can be transported in a cab only.

Paddy wagons are used for transportation of prisoners.

Since 2006 we supply vans to Gorkovsky automobile plant. 4795 make of our mobile shops is know all over Russia. Each shop van purchased in the showroom of GAZ authorized dealer is produced at our factory.
